Ambassador Pit Bull Finds Home & Family!

History on Hoover:

Hoover came in with the name Duke, transferred to us from a sister shelter because he did not "like the company of cats".  Within several days we changed his name to Hoover, for the Dam, because he was such a monument of a temperament correct dog (and a pit bull).

Hoover has done presentations to several high schools.  He would be the calming force in community obedience classes to show how to be well behaved and in control.

We got many people wanting to adopt Hoover, he is a beautiful blue fawn boy, who always made people look at him twice.  But our pit bull homes are screened very carefully.  We have ambassador dogs and only ambassador homes are selected.

After 10 long months, this great dog has found his new forever home in the S.F. Bay Area.  He is now a member of a wonderful family with a law enforcement background.  He recently passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen test with them and his adoption is now finalized.  Here's what they have to say about Hoover along with the wonderful pictures they sent us.

" ...  We drove to Second-Chance-Pets looking for a Labrador and came home with a new family member named Hoover.  At first my oldest son did not want Hoover because he would not play with him in the kennel area.  Boy how changing a dogs environment changes his attitude.  Hoover wags his tail into every cabinet and wall we have in the house.  Hoover runs around the yard and house and loves playing with his toys with both boys.  Hoover has made a great addition to our family.  He is a gentle dog who gets along great with my two sons.  He likes to lay in the hallway and watches them play in their rooms.  He listens very well and obeys commands.  Both my boys love to get down on the floor with him and let Hoover give them kisses.  And although Hoover is gentle and good with my family, he lets people know he's around when you knock on the door (Which I like).
I am glad I made the decision to drive to Second-Chance-Pets so Hoover would find us."
