It Takes A Village

The Big Board at the Memroial Hall

It takes village to do things, so we have heard before.  Well, the same applies for us here at Second Chance.  It takes a village of VOLUNTEERS to get the daily duites done and when there is a special event, like Corning In the Evening, the voluteers worked overtime to get everything spic and span.  They started 2 weeks before our event doing all the little things that tend to get put off for another day.   They stayed extra hours on Saturdays to help.   So if you see Kelly, Jean or Taylor, tell them they are not 'just volunteers'.  Tell them they are very special volunteers who deserve allot of credit for coming out every Saturday with smiles in place and their hearts in the right place.

New Pens!

New Pens Are In!

The new stronger pens we needed so badly are finally up and ready for use.  Shade cloth for the top for now until something more permanent can be figured out.  We were able to put the pens to use today with Harbor in one and Uno, Adams and Monroe in the other.  I will take some new pictures with the dogs in them next week and post them.

Waiting for Someone to Come

In our limited play yard space, we have several things for the dogs to jump on, go through and hop on.  No fancy stuff here!  One is a cement culvert that Kassie  loves to hop on and sit pretty on.  I think she looks like she is waiting for someone to come and adopt her!  Kassie is wonderful girl who has a small blue spot in both eyes.  Call to see her or come out on Saturday afternoon from 1 to 4 when we are open for adoptions.
