With the outside pens cleaned up and no threat of another flood after it flooded again on Monday, we were able to get some dogs in the outside pens last week. Today, Saturday, January 30, we got Bart the flat coated retriever mix outside and let him play with Linus the little terrier puppy. Hawkeye, the beautiful pit bull went next to Mia and Korman and Katie are in the same pen now. It is a challenge when putting dogs next to each other. If they fence fight, or bark allot at each other, they can’t stay out side. So, with our fingers crossed, we try different dogs in different pens, watching to see how the reactions are. The crew, Kelly, Taylor and Jean were out today and all the dogs got walked and some shelves got cleaned up and we re-secured the tarps. There is never time to just sit around at the shelter!
