SHELTER DOGS -- WHO SAYS THEY ARE THROWAWAY?!

Our Hildegard came in and stayed with us for several months. We suspect her "finder" was really her "owner" and didn't want to pay a relinquishment fee. This happens frequently. At least the dog was brought to the shelter and not dumped on the side of the road to fend for herself.

I received a phone call today about Hildy's progress in her new adoptive home after 3 weeks. A bustle of activity and they needed a dog that would do good with a myriad of people coming through everyday and could get along with the horses and other dogs on the property.

Hildy (now Honey) is the best dog they could have ever wanted. Everyone that meets her wants to know where her adopter got her. They want one just like her!! Shelter dogs are not disposable, they are not throwaway because they are bad. They come to a shelter because they no longer have a home.

Shelter dogs are the best dogs!!!
